I agree that for PVE its almsot a must as 90% of the monks in PUG's suck. If im runnign with a guildmate or friends that i know are good monks i wouldnt bring it.

In PVP i would not put this in my skill bar. All it will do is take time away from me dealing damage or trapping than to cast troll ugent on myself. if you dont have a half decent monk in pvp (tombs or gvg) that cant put a healing seed or some form of healing (hopefulyl not breeze) on you, than your team will probably lose anyway, so why prolong your death when its inevetable? In Random Arenas you could argue that you can bring it as to u might not get paired with a monk or the one u got is crap or that your monk is out of energy from healing other party members. in RA i think its personal choice, but i dont take it with me in there. TU wont save me in a fight as well as whirling or dryders would.

Also the Archer Henchmen told me she got ran to droks and leveled off the grawl and couldnt afford a cap sig for better skills

I think it's a deep seeded jealousy. For some reason, maybe it's personal insecurities, maybe halitosis... I just can't get the henches to open up to me like that. At most I get a grunt or a 'kick me' sign on my back (followed by Err=7... hmm...)

I "forgot" it earlier in CA but fortunately we had a fantastic healer on our team and we made it to team arena.
Otherwise i always take unguent and an evade skill to help prevent distractions while using it.

I use to bring it comp arenas as well. But then I noticed that teams without healers didnt go far anyways. I only mentioned antidote signet for things like Blind which render you useless (unless you're trapping) until a monk mends you.

For pve I definitely take healing spring over troll ungent, as it can be used to heal allies as well. Whirling defence is usually enough to ensure that healing spring is uninterrupted. Whirling defense is also usually enough to get the aggro off of you. The monk should be able to handle the rest.

For pvp both healing spring and troll ungent are garbage IMHO. I suppose trolls could be useful in random arenas, but even there it is almost always interrupted. Healing spring is really only useful if your team is running a very specific build in tombs that requires it. However, I'm not fond of builds that involve sitting in a ball

Lately I have been ditching Troll Unguent in favor of Throw Dirt. In PvE, I usually trust my monk friends to keep me alive and well, so Throw Dirt can be used to blind anything attacking them. I also pack either Whirling Defense or Lightning Reflexes if I start taking a lot of aggro.

In PvP, I aim to keep the other team's monk busy enough that when I use Throw Dirt on that pesky warrior bashing my monk, the opposing monk has trouble finding the time to remove the blind.

In the Competition Arenas, Troll Unguent is usually begging to be interrupted. I just avoid self heals all together, bring a defensive stance or two, and aim for the spell casters - kill them before they kill me. Sure, Wild Blow will put an end to my stance evasion/blocking, but how many times is that warrior going to come knocking on my door first anyway?

For random arenas, TU is damn good when you know when to use it. Obviously you dont try to use it when there's a chance you'll interrupted.

For Team Arenas I still pack it on occasion and it does relieve a lot of healing duties off the monk. Again, you just have to know when to use it so you dont get interrupted. I hardly get interrupted and the 3 seconds doesnt even seem so long anymore.

For larger scale battles (GVG, Tombs) I dont pack it and opt for more damage. But I find it funny that people consider TU completely useless.

I'd never say "useless", but there are so many better skills in general for a TA or tombs build. As mentioned, Throw Dirt is a good choice, preventing damage rather than trying to heal it; traps can be good - I've used a barbed trap on offense quite well, and to free a monk from a pair of attackers, and so on. Damage prevention>healing for most anyone but a monk.

RA(CA? depends on what you call it) is of course different, as you don't have any expectation of getting healed. In most situations though, to prevent damage to myself a stance will do, to prevent damage to others a cripple or blind will do.
